Final Print: The client chose chose this piece, because it was a more literal representation of an exaggarated idea. The commission was to create a piece that played on the idea of "catty" women. So I chose a simple, seemingly ordinary foreground and juxtaposed it with a violent graphic background.
Alternate Concept: Playing on the idea of "catty" women, I created a piece that had the same image duplicated, but one upside down. I wanted to give an entirely new meaning to the phrase "two-faced".
Original Sketch: This was the sketch I did for the central piece. I later transfered it to linoleum and carved it down to create my image.
